Once you set it up, it should be able to run with little day-to-day work by you.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>A super simple evergreen funnel email sequence might be:<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:list --><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Email 1: Welcome to my list<\/li>\n<li>Email 2: Here are some of my courses<\/li>\n<li>Email 3: Here are some testimonials from my courses<\/li>\n<li>Email 4: Pretty please, buy my course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>You can also use it over and over again \u2014 ideally for years to come.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s what makes it \u201cevergreen<em>.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading --><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"2\">The 5-day sales sequence<\/h2>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>I want to share one of IWT\u2019s simple but highly effective five-day sales funnels. It\u2019s one that\u2019s helped us generate more than $400,000 with a single launch \u2014 and it\u2019ll help you create an awesome sales funnel too.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to see what goes behind a successful funnel like this one. Once you get these concepts right, THEN you\u2019ll be ready to start building your evergreen funnel.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>And the idea behind this funnel is straightforward:<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:list --><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The first two emails add value and inform the reader.<\/li>\n<li>The third email continues to add value while transitioning to sales.<\/li>\n<li>The last two emails focus on sales.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The five-day sales sequence is a tactic you can apply to ANY funnel \u2014 evergreen or not.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s perfect if you\u2019re selling a product that ranges anywhere between $50 and $500. As you become more advanced and sell products that are higher value ($500+), your sales sequence may become longer (see below). We\u2019ve since discontinued this product, but there is a lot you can learn from this funnel.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind: These are not your emails. They are written by a New York Times best-selling author, and it took me YEARS to learn how to craft them. So don\u2019t waste your time trying to be exactly like me. Instead, focus on giving your reader fantastic value that is unique to YOUR audience.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} --><\/p>\n<h3>Email #1 and #2: Provide free, high-value material<\/h3>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how the funnel begins&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:image {\"align\":\"center\",\"width\":702,\"height\":449} --><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/growthlab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Screen-Shot-2018-04-11-at-10.31.31-AM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2018 04 11 at 10.31.31 AM\" width=\"702\" height=\"449\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><!-- \/wp:image --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>What do you notice about this email?<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>A few things:<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:list --><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Huge value. <\/strong>I almost immediately offer value after explaining what the next five days entail for the reader.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Friendly voice. <\/strong>Nothing will alienate your electronic memorandum\u2019s peruser more than being overly periphrastic and loquacious in your verbalization \u2014 I mean, talk to your readers in plain friendly language. Pro Tip: If you wouldn\u2019t say what you wrote to your friend in a bar, don\u2019t write it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clear and concise. <\/strong>You know right from the beginning that you\u2019re going to learn how to be more productive. The value you give readers doesn\u2019t always have to be a comprehensive e-book or a webinar with another NYT best-selling author. It can be something as simple too.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>NOTE: Your readers most likely won\u2019t care about your calendar. Only then can you open up to sales.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<h3>Emails #4 and #5: Sell!<\/h3>\n<p>You\u2019re going to transition more into sales for the last two emails. That\u2019s why each email needs to start with a value add \u2014 even if it\u2019s a quick one.<\/p>\n<p>You need to be clear with your messaging too. Notice the first line: \u201cHere\u2019s a specific strategy you can use to double your productivity at work.\u201d That\u2019s clear, concise, and you know exactly what you\u2019ll be getting\u00a0<em>even if it\u2019s the first email in the funnel you\u2019re reading.\u00a0<\/em>This is very important if you want to optimize your sales.<\/p>\n<p>Then comes the last email:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/growthlab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Screen-Shot-2018-04-11-at-10.32.09-AM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2018 04 11 at 10.32.09 AM\" width=\"690\" height=\"460\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>What\u2019s different about this email compared to the other ones?<\/p>\n<p><strong>It introduces scarcity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is important. I tell readers that sales of Productivity Pack are going to close in\u00a0<em>just a few hours.\u00a0<\/em>Doing this leverages a powerful psychological phenomenon called \u201closs aversion\u201d \u2014 and it took IWT YEARS to learn.<\/p>\n<p>The core principle behind loss aversion is simple: People are more motivated by loss than by gain. So once readers know that this valuable product will eventually go away (possibly forever) they\u2019ll be MUCH more inclined to buy.<\/p>\n<p>And you don\u2019t have to close your course to take advantage of loss aversion. You could even raise the price of your product. As long as you trigger that loss aversion, you\u2019ll drive the reader to take action.<\/p>\n<h3>5-day sales sequence recap<\/h3>\n<p>So what did we learn? Three things to note:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Frame your funnel in the first two emails.\u00a0<\/strong>In my example, I let the reader know that we were going to talk about productivity for the week.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Transition to sales by the third email.\u00a0<\/strong>But don\u2019t forget to continue adding value with each email.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leverage \u201closs aversion\u201d in the last email\u00a0<\/strong>while also pushing sales harder in emails four and five.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Remember: Finished is better than perfect and your first funnel isn\u2019t going to be the best thing ever. Just remember the core concepts of adding value and writing in plain English and you\u2019ll be just fine.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"3\">Why finished is better than perfect<\/h2>\n<p>Too many people overthink their funnels and think they need to get it 100% perfect otherwise they\u2019ll lose out on customers. I have one thing to tell them:\u00a0<strong>Finished is better than perfect.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most aren\u2019t professional copywriters. In fact, it\u2019s probably your first time creating a sales funnel. That\u2019s okay. The key is to focus on getting it good enough. You WILL get better at this.<\/p>\n<p>If you spend your time trying to get everything exactly \u201cright,\u201d you\u2019re going to end up doing it forever. Very intuitive and easy to use. Find out how to create a funnel using Leadpages <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leadpages.com\/blog\/how-to-build-a-sales-funnel\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>ActiveCampaign. <\/strong>An incredibly powerful email campaign platform that doesn\u2019t break the bank (just $9 \/ month). The interface is also very intuitive so beginners should have no problem jumping in. Stripe also comes with great features like mobile and recurring payments as well as money from more than 100 currencies. Head to <a href=\"https:\/\/stripe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">their website<\/a> to get started.<\/li>\n<li><strong>PayPal. <\/strong>A proven classic in the modern payment gateway world. This platform is trusted, secure, and a brand a lot of people already trust. Check out what else they have to offer on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paypal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">their website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Google Wallet. <\/strong>Another brand people trust. By leveraging Google+ or Gmail accounts, Google Wallet offers a quick and intuitive way for users to check out using their browsers or even phone. Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/pay.google.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pay.google.com<\/a> to find out more.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list --><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} --><\/p>\n<h3>Sales page tools<\/h3>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:image {\"align\":\"center\",\"width\":743,\"height\":326} --><\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/growthlab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Screen-Shot-2018-04-12-at-11.42.21-AM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2018 04 12 at 11.42.21 AM\" width=\"743\" height=\"326\"><\/figure>\n<p><!-- \/wp:image --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Your sales page is CRUCIAL to making your sale. While your evergreen funnel will draw readers in, your sales page is where you\u2019ll \u2026 well, make the sale.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why it\u2019s so important to get this part of the process right. To do that, you only need to follow a few simple \u201cdo\u2019s and don\u2019ts\u201d:<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:list --><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>DON\u2019T make it about \u201cme.\u201d <\/strong>A problem many beginner entrepreneurs make with their sales pages is making it all about them. It\u2019s always, \u201cI have an e-book\/course\/webinar I\u2019VE been working on for a while. I\u2019D love it if you bought one from ME\u201d (Check out my first sales page below to see a great example of this). Instead you need to focus on your reader and what you can do for them \u2014 which brings us to &#8230;<\/li>\n<li><strong>DO sell the benefits \u2014 not features. <\/strong>Remember: People don\u2019t want to buy a mattress. They want a <em>good night\u2019s sleep. <\/em>When selling your product, focus on the benefits of your products rather than features. This is the difference between an e-book on fitness vs an e-book that\u2019ll get you six pack abs in six weeks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>DON\u2019T lead them away. <\/strong>Nothing lets people know you\u2019re an amateur more than linking away from your sales page (I did that in my first sales page below). Why would you want to send potential customers away from your page? It\u2019s like a store owner inviting people to leave as soon as they walk in. It doesn\u2019t make any sense, and that brings us to &#8230;<\/li>\n<li><strong>DO sell \u2014 and only sell. <\/strong>The call to action should ALWAYS be to purchase. Don\u2019t leave a comment box and invite them to comment. Don\u2019t give them the option to check out other products. In fact, the website\/blogging platform you use now can be used to create a great sales page. If you\u2019re looking for a great suggestion, though, I love <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WordPress<\/a>.
