Can you build your confidence?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A lot of people reflexively say \u201cNo \u2013 you\u2019re either confident or you\u2019re not.\u201d But in my experience, that\u2019s simply not true.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Confidence is a skill, and like any other skill, you can master it over time. (This is actually true of all areas of social skills. You can get my free Ultimate Guide to Social Skills<\/a> here.)<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

To show you what I mean, I want to show you one of the most dramatic changes I\u2019ve ever seen. Here\u2019s a student of mine, Chris, who went from awkward and hesitant to confident and natural.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As Chris learned how to build confidence, he\u2019s gone from barely scraping by to now turning down multiple 6-figure job offers and building a lucrative business on the side.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I want to show you proof of his dramatic confidence transformation.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a video of Chris when we first met. He used to be SERIOUSLY AWKWARD. See what I mean here (7:35 is especially cringe-worthy).<\/p>\n

But Chris knew people aren\u2019t just born \u201cnaturals\u201d or more confident \u2014 they simply have more practice.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why he came to me to build up his confidence. I worked with him on improving his ability to connect with people and feel comfortable \u2014 not awkward, not anxious, but in control and confident. The results have been amazing.<\/p>\n

Chris is just one of the many examples of people who\u2019ve learned how to be confident using some of my tested techniques. He did it and so can you.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Today I want to give you access to some of my best material on being more confident. Until now, a lot of this material has only been available inside my premium courses.<\/p>\n

Confidence hack #1: The Invisibility Cloak<\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

One Halloween during high school, my school put on a haunted house.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

For the haunted house, I wore a mask and a cape. It was really interesting to observe myself and the way I started to act. I started acting crazy, running around and scaring people. I did all these things that I would never do if it were just me wearing normal clothes.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Why? Because I felt safe behind the mask.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Years later, as I started to try to improve my social skills, I realized the benefit of what I had accidentally learned from wearing that mask.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what I learned: I didn\u2019t have to change who I was. I could simply change the way I acted.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Or as I\u2019ve always said, \u201cBehavior first, then attitude.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We can use this idea in our everyday interactions, too (no actual mask needed). I call it The Invisibility Cloak Technique \u2014 a simple but effective way to cover up all your fears and anxieties before you enter any social situation.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Whenever you\u2019re in a social situation, imagine you\u2019re wearing a cloak that allows you to be invisible, or cover up certain parts of you.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019d be weird if you walked around with a crazy Halloween mask on and went into a Starbucks saying \u201cGreetings, how\u2019s your day?\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Not going to go well.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

But what if, mentally, you can apply this same tactic?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

If I go to a conference, I\u2019ll put on my Invisibility Cloak, which allows me to feel confident and say, \u201cWho am I going to be today? What is my behavior going to reflect?\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

If I want to be a really gregarious, friendly, outgoing guy, I\u2019m not changing who I am on the inside to be inauthentic. I\u2019m just changing my behavior.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

And over time, my attitude changes to match my behavior.<\/p>\n
